Directions

Preheat the oven to 350°. Lightly oil the squash skin with safflower oil. Lightly oil a baking pan. Place the squash, cut side down, in the baking pan. Bake for 30 minutes. While the squash is baking, prepare the polenta stuffing. Heat up the olive oil in a medium saucepan and sauté the onions and garlic for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the celery and sauté 2 minutes. Add the EdenBlend, water, sea salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Slowly whisk in the polenta, stirring constantly, and bring to a boil. Reduce the flame to medium-low and simmer for 20 minutes or until thick. Remove from the flame. Pulse the sunflower seeds in a blender until coarsely ground. Stir the sage, thyme and rosemary into the polenta. Add extra pepper or sea salt if desired.

Remove the squash from the oven, and turn over so that the cut side faces up. Fill each squash half with equal amounts of polenta. Sprinkle the ground sunflower seeds equally over the polenta. Garnish with equal amounts of parsley. Return to the oven and bake for another 15 to 20 minutes or until the topping begins to brown slightly. Remove and place on a serving platter.

My parasite cleanse - Week three

May 25th, 2007

I have completed week three of my Parasite cleanse.  I have not seen any parasites as of yet,  kind of a small let down, as I want to know they are coming out.   My  movement has had a little more substance while doing this cleanse, I am also taking Oxy-Powder on a maintenance dosage (every other day) .  I have had small pains in my stomach every once in a while, maybe once a week if that.  The pain is sharp for a moment, then it goes away, reminds me of eating something bad.   I wonder if this is the parasites coming out of my toxic body?  Well, I have to say I am not completely sure that I am seeing a need to do this cleanse, but like the last time, I am going to stick this one out.

Moore film attacks U.S. health care

May 24th, 2007

By Mike Collett-White

CANNES, France (Reuters) - Director Michael Moore says the U.S. health care system is driven by greed in his new documentary “SiCKO”, and asks of Americans in general, “Where is our soul?”

He also said he could go to jail for taking a group of volunteers suffering ill health after helping in the September 11, 2001 rescue efforts on an unauthorized trip to Cuba, where they received exemplary treatment at virtually no cost.

The controversial film maker is back in Cannes, where he won the film festival’s highest honor in 2004 with his anti-Bush polemic “Fahrenheit 9/11″.

In “SiCKO” he turns his attention to health, asking why 50 million Americans, 9 million of them children, live without cover, while those that are insured are often driven to poverty by spiraling costs or wrongly refused treatment at all.

But the movie, which has taken Cannes by storm, goes further by portraying a country where the government is more interested in personal profit and protecting big business than caring for its citizens, many of whom cannot afford health insurance.

“I’m trying to explore bigger ideas and bigger issues, and in this case the bigger issue in this film is who are we as a people?” Moore told reporters after a press screening.

“Why do we behave the way we behave? What has become of us? Where is our soul?”

“SiCKO” uses humor and tragic personal stories to get the point across, and had a packed audience variously laughing and in tears. There was loud applause at the end of the two-hour documentary, which is out of the main Cannes competition. reuters

My Diet - Update

May 24th, 2007

Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.

Thomas Jefferson

I have yet to try the blood type diet, I am really looking to start that, but I have had to many things going on for me to focus.  My situation will settle down here in about 2 weeks, so I will then be able to update you as to how that works out.  I have actually been doing pretty well on my diet, I have only been eating one cooked meal a day, and everything I have eaten has been prepared from home.  I have started to eliminate meat from my diet little by little, and I am now eating some form of meat or poultry maybe 4 times a week.  I feel great and I have actually lost about 5 pounds!  Raw fruits and vegetables are the key!

keep your eye out for the update!

Oxy-Powder maintance

May 23rd, 2007

I lowered my dosage!

I started this cleanse taking what I thought was allot of the Oxy-Powder, my dosage when I started was 10 capsules. After cleansing for about a month, it has come time for me to lower my dosage to 6! This is a good sign that I have a cleaner colon, as I am having the same amount of movement from the 6 capsules as I was with 10. I am going to continue this dosage for a while and then think about lowering it again.  Since I have cleansed my toxic colon, I have felt better and better, and had more energy to boot!

Inspiration for the day

May 22nd, 2007

The more a man knows, the more he forgives.
Catherine the Great

This is something that I have seen allot of in the past month, with all the life style changes I have seen, I am starting to see the need to forgive for things I have held on to for many years.  Now that I have the time to see these things, I can see how they negatively effect my life.   Forgivness is a wonderful gift, and it is one that only you can give.

Oxy-Powder maintance

May 22nd, 2007

Continuing my maintenance, I am seeing that I may want to lower my dosage, as I am taking about 10 every other day.  I feel that I am having these movements fairly easily, so I am going to attempt to lower my dosage and see what happens.  I started cleansing my toxic colon about a month and a half ago, and as to date I have basically changed my health on my own.  I have felt great, and this has sparked so many other life style changes for me as well.  So the plan is to lower my dosage, and I figure I would try 6 capsules the next time I take my maintenance.

The Healing Crisis

May 21st, 2007
AKA: The Cleansing Reaction, The Detox Reaction, and The Herxheimer      Reaction

What is it?
Also known as the “Herxheimer Reaction”, this reaction occurs when the body tries to eliminate toxins at a faster rate than they can be properly disposed of. The more toxic one’s bodily systems are, the more severe the detoxification, or healing crisis. It is characterized by a temporary increase in symptoms during the cleansing or detox process which may be mild or severe. You may feel worse and therefore conclude that the treatment is not working. But these reactions are instead signs that the treatment is working and that your body is going through the process of cleaning itself of impurities, toxins and imbalances.

Such reactions are temporary and can occur immediately — or within several days, or even several weeks, of a detox. Symptoms usually pass within 1-3 days, but on rare occasions can last several weeks. If you are suffering from a major illness, the symptoms you experience during the healing crisis may be identical to the disease itself. Sometimes discomfort during the healing crisis is of greater intensity than when you were developing the chronic disease. This may explain why there may be a brief flare-up in one’s condition. Often the crisis will come after you feel your very best. Most people feel somewhat ill during the first few days of a cleanse because it is at that point that your body dumps toxins into the blood stream for elimination. With a more serious condition there may be many small crises to go through before the final one is possible. In any case, a cleansing & purifying process is underway, and stored wastes are in a free-flowing state. Cause:
The healing crisis is the result of every body-system, in concert, working to eliminate waste products through all elimination channels and set the stage for regeneration. The end result: old tissues are replaced with new. When any treatment or cleansing program causes a large scale die-off of bacteria, a significant amount of endotoxins (toxins within the bacteria itself) are released into the body. The more bacteria present, and the stronger their endotoxins, the stronger the cleansing reaction. When any treatment or detox causes the organs of the body (particularly the liver, which is a storehouse of drug and poison residues) to release their stored poisons and toxins, a cleansing reaction may occur. Any program, such as fasting, which causes a rapid breakdown of fat cells (which are a storehouse for toxins), can cause a healing crisis as toxins previously lodged in the fat cells are released into the blood stream.

Symptoms:
The healing crisis will usually bring about past conditions in whatever order the body is capable of handling at that time. People often forget the diseases or injuries they have had in the past, but are usually reminded during the crisis. There are a wide variety of reactions that may manifest during a healing crisis, the most common are:

Increased joint or muscle pain

Diarrhea
Extreme fatigue and/or its opposite, restlessness
Cramps
Headache (believed to be caused by buildup of toxins in the blood)
Aches, Pains
Arthritic flair up
Insomnia
Nausea
Sinus congestion
Fever (usually low grade) and/or chills
Frequent urination and/or urinary tract discharges
Drop in blood pressure
Skin eruptions, including: boils, hives, and rashes.
Cold or flu-like symptoms
Strong emotions: anger, despair, sadness, fear, etc.
Suppressed memories arise
Anxiety
Mood swings
New phobias develop

Easing Your Way Through the Healing Crisis:
Drink plenty of fresh water (especially water), juices, and herbal teas to flush the body of toxins. Some professionals recommend distilled water as the best. Drink from 2 to 4 quarts(liters) per day. This will help flush the toxins out of your system and speed along the detoxification.

  • If you are feeling fatigued, or sleepy, your body is talking to you, and telling you to rest. Be kind to yourself, and get the rest that you need.
  • Symptoms frequently disappear immediately after a good bowel movement, use an enema to provide relief.
  • For other symptoms, meditation, EFT, acupuncture or a good massage might be helpful to speed up the healing process, and reduce the discomfort.
  • And, on rare occasions, a reduction of the dosage or temporary cessation may be required.

Important: Always ensure your health by having a thorough medical check up: don’t assume that if you have any of the above symptoms that you are in a healing crisis: you may not be in a healing process, you may have a medical health problem.

I experienced this while cleansing my toxic colon with Oxy-Powder, many people don’t understand what a healing crisis is, and I hope this helps better explain what I have felt myself.

The aloe vera miracle: A natural medicine for cancer, cholesterol, diabetes, inflammation, IBS, and other health conditions

May 21st, 2007

                        Aloe Vera

I’m truly excited to be bringing you this information today about the miraculous healing abilities of aloe vera. First off, in case you don’t know, let me emphasize that I don’t sell aloe vera products of any kind, I haven’t been paid to write this article, and I don’t earn any commissions from the sale of any products mentioned here. I am, however, an enthusiastic supporter of natural medicine, and I personally grow and eat aloe vera plants in Tucson, Arizona.

In fact, my yard is an aloe farm, and each day before I make my superfood breakfast smoothie, I walk out to my yard, slice off an aloe vera leaf, thank the plant for granting me its healing medicine, then I fillet the leaf and drop the aloe vera gel into my blender. A few minutes later, I’m enjoying the most impressive medicinal herb that nature has ever created. (Click here to see the new PhotoTour showing step-by-step pictures of how to fillet aloe vera and remove the inner gel.)

When I say aloe vera is the most impressive medicinal herb invented by nature, I don’t make that statement lightly. Of all the herbs I’ve ever studied — and I’ve written thousands of articles on nutrition and disease prevention — aloe vera is the most impressive herb of them all. (Garlic would be a close second.) There is nothing on this planet that offers the amazing variety of healing benefits granted by aloe vera. In a single plant, aloe vera offers potent, natural medicine that:

• Halts the growth of cancer tumors.
• Lowers high cholesterol.
• Repairs “sludge blood” and reverses “sticky blood”.
• Boosts the oxygenation of your blood.
• Eases inflammation and soothes arthritis pain.
• Protects the body from oxidative stress.
• Prevents kidney stones and protects the body from oxalates in coffee and tea.
• Alkalizes the body, helping to balance overly acidic dietary habits.
• Cures ulcers, IBS, Crohn’s disease and other digestive disorders.
• Reduces high blood pressure natural, by treating the cause, not just the symptoms.
• Nourishes the body with minerals, vitamins, enzymes and glyconutrients.
• Accelerates healing from physical burns and radiation burns.
• Replaces dozens of first aid products, makes bandages and antibacterial sprays obsolete.
• Halts colon cancer, heals the intestines and lubricates the digestive tract.
• Ends constipation.
• Stabilizes blood sugar and reduces triglycerides in diabetics.
• Prevents and treats candida infections.
• Protects the kidneys from disease.
• Functions as nature’s own “sports drink” for electrolyte balance, making common sports drinks obsolete.
• Boosts cardiovascular performance and physical endurance.
• Speeds recovery from injury or physical exertion.
• Hydrates the skin, accelerates skin repair.

Truly, there is nothing else that compares to the medicinal potential of aloe vera. And yet most people only know about the topical applications of aloe vera gel. They think it’s only good for sunburns. In reality, aloe vera is useful for both external and internal use. In this article, I’ll discuss both.

Quinoa Tortillas

Can be used by
All types

Description
A substitute for corn tortillas.

Category
Other

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups quinoa flour

a pinch of salt (app. 1/4 teaspoon)

3/4 to 1 cup of lukewarm water

Directions
Mix everything up with a fork. Gather the dough into a ball and knead until it is no longer sticky, then cover with a towel and let it stand 1 hour. (If you have trouble with stickiness, try adding a little rice flour to the mix.)

When you are ready to roll out the dough, put a heavy skillet to heat on a medium setting and add a few drops of ghee or light olive oil. Put down some plastic wrap on a flat surface like a counter or big bread board and sprinkle both the wrap and your rolling pin with a little quinoa flour.

Pinch off a ball of dough and recover the bowl with the towel. I usually pinch off a piece about the size of a walnut. Place it in the middle of the plastic wrap and cover it with another piece of plastic wrap. Roll it out carefully to about a 4-5 inch diameter. The tortilla should be about 1/8th inch thick. Try not to make it paper thin, or you won’t be able to remove it from the plastic wrap. When it’s done, carefully peel the top piece of wrap away, then peel the tortilla from the second piece.

Place the tortilla in the heated skillet and let it bake for about 30 seconds. It will blister and rise a little. Turn over and bake the other side. Remove from the skillet and place on a plate lined with a paper towel. Cover with a towel.

It takes a few tries, but once you get the knack of rolling out and peeling the tortilla from the plastic, you can make a tortilla while one is baking in the skillet and have a nice assembly line going.

These tortillas are best eaten fresh, but they can be refrigerated for a day or two and frozen as well.

If you really like making them, it’s a good idea to invest in a tortilla press, which helps simplify and streamline the process.

You can also make chips from these tortillas by cutting them into wedges and baking them in the oven at 350 degrees until crispy. http://www.dadamo.com/
